There are some requirements to be aware of when installing Distributed Scan Server on a Windows Server R2 system:. The authentication certificate is used for two things — for secure connections to devices using SSL and for secure connections to clients connecting to the server from the Scan Management Console on another machine.
The certificate can be issued from an internal certificate authority, a public certificate authority or it can be a self-signed certificate. By default, only the local Administrator account belongs to this group. Domain Administrators and other accounts with Local Administrator privileges already have sufficient permissions to manage scanning objects without being explicitly added to this group.
In addition to this group, a new domain account will need to be created in AD for the Distributed Scan Server service to run under on all Scan Servers. Thanks for your feedback. Today I went to scan in several items and found WFS was gone. Apparently the WFS program was uninstalled during a patch or update from Microsoft. And if that is the only way, how can I keep it from being removed during the next MS Update?

Safety Scanner only scans when manually triggered and is available for use 10 days after being downloaded. We recommend that you always download the latest version of this tool before each scan. Safety scanner is a portable executable and does not appear in the Windows Start menu or as an icon on the desktop.
Note where you saved this download. Will SP1 help us somehow? Thank you,. We are using elusiva remote scanner, this works great. But, it is not a "pure" RDS solution. But the pricing is fair. We have searched for a way to use virtual channels for twain redirection, but the development overhead is too high. Or is it just unsupported? I will forward this requirement to our product group. As you know, the design and development of our product are always based on customer requirement.
On a side note, this blog post might be of interest if you would like to know more about how the Windows team handles customer feedback in the engineering decision making process.
I was about to post a question regarding similar situation as urmasv and found this post, so I thought to bring it back to the light see if a solution has been developed before we start looking for third party solution.
