Xsi render license

I have a couple of questions regarding the rendering and other stuff : -If I buy the XSi Essentials and run it on a dual Quadcore so 8 cores in total Mental ray will use all 8 cores when rendering? Is this the same as batch rendering? So 1 batch renderlicense allows you to render on an additional machine regardless of how many cores it contains?

I understand that the XSi advanced has additional batch renderlicenses, but I want to make sure I understand the renderlicense-policy correctly. A question not related to rendering, I understand XSi 7. BTW XSi really rocks!
