If you want to hide a file, navigate to the folder where the file is located. Now type in the following command, replacing the word filename with the name of the file you want to hide. Your file or folder is now completely hidden! You can use this command for both files and for folders. In order to show protected system files, all you have to do is go to Folder Options , View tab and uncheck the Hide protected operating system files box.
Now if you were to browse into that directory with the hidden file or folder, you would see it listed there with a greyed out icon. As mentioned previously, all of these are very simplistic ways to hide data in Windows, but they can come in handy for short-term situations or for hiding content from kids, etc. So now you have four different ways to hide a file, folder or drive in Windows!
Why not put your folder in somewhere sneakier places. Windows folder or System32 folders or Local settings, inside application folders in program files or encrypt using truecrypt. Just remember never to depend on user ignorance as a form of security ; Doing so is kinda like hiding your house key under your door mat -- the people you're not concerned with won't care to look Every form of security relies on some level of ignorance, just not how you see it usually. It must exist, or your computer would not function. Unless you have a bit operating system, and then no such folder should ever exist. Are you sure it was there before, and are you sure you have a bit OS? In reply to CmdrKeene's post on July 25, I have a bit and it was there at first and then it just vanished.

Its working and everything except for when i go to my C Drive there's no folder called Program Files x It's there if it opened I already tried that
