Oh I loved it when we 'find out' who Natasha's real Dad is!! The whole taping of the spoon on the cup, brilliant I thought!! I also think the part after that, when Natasha finds the bones of Simon in the river is a really good ending. Although the bones would not have stayed in tact like that after 15 years, but still makes for a good ending to the mystery. Was sad that the doctor committed suicide over the cliff where they must have thrown Simons body 15 years previously. But touching that he still feels the pain of what happened and threw himself over the same cliff they threw Simon Overall, we were glad that we sat down to watch Little Oberon.
Its a good mix of drama, mystery, old romance and magic. If you missed it then I strongly suggest that the next time you get the chance to watch it, please do!!! I hope other people give their opinion on this great Aussie film as I've not found any yet. Thats right, one of the best Australian movies I've seen!
This is what Australian TV drama is capable of. This is a captivating movie, that has the right mix of mystery, murder and magic and is set in the sleepy mountain town of Little Oberon It was shot in Marysville and Mount Macedon I recommend this to everyone and anyone interested! What a fantastic movie! Georgie Tasma Walton and her daughter Natasha Brittany Byrne come back to the small town where Georgie grew up, to find Georgie's mother, Lola Sigrid Thornton dying of Cancer, and a mystery disappearance thats over 15 years old.
This movie beautifully combines Australian humour with touching drama and a good old fashioned 'who done it! I thought Brittany did a fantastic job at the 'non conventional' TV teenager, and brought reality to the character - not everyone has a tantrum about not knowing who their father is.
This is a definite must see if you've lost faith in the Australian Film Industry. Excellent TV-drama with an exceptional cast.
Sigrid Thornton as cancer-stricken Lola Green has less screen time than she deserves - her presence is spectacular. The stilted relationship between the proud and unapproachable Lola and her daughter Georgie Tasma Walton is played to perfection and produces some of the most bittersweet moments of Little Oberon.
Little twists along the way add to the mystery and keeps the plot from dragging into the average small-town story. There are some unexpected scare-scenes that will give you a shock! Following in the footsteps of The Alice, Little Oberon's courage to step away from the conventional drama format into the realm of modern fantasy is a welcome relief in a flat year for Aussie shows.
