EA gave away Sims 2 complete just before they took it down and it was only available for 30 days. I'm still bugging them to put it back on sale since I lost the discs. Then EA switched SecuROM 3 for the next few releases, which didn't work properly and resulted in a ton of corruption and unplayable games the amount of savefiles Maxis asked us to mail them for investigation and correction is ridiculous.
